Your product claims to recover deleted data from my Android. How much can it recover?
How much data is recovered is dependent on how much new information has been written to your phone since the data you want to recover was deleted. You might only be able to recover part of the data you need.

How can I get new updates of the application (for bug fixes and enhancements)?
We update the application from time to time. To ensure you have the latest version of the software, we recommend you periodically click on the ‘Check for Updates’ button on the Start menu.

Does the SmartPhone Recovery Pro work with Androids that are password protected?
You must have the PIN / Password for the locked phone before performing a recovery.


Which version of Windows is the SmartPhone Recovery Pro compatible with?
The software is compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Will the software work on all Android handsets?
Due to the numerous handset types and different versions of Android operating systems, the SmartPhone Recovery Pro is currently not compatible with all versions. We recommend that you verify your operating system is compatible with our software by checking the compatibility requirements before you purchase the software.

Will the SmartPhone Recovery Pro work on an Android Tablet?
No, currently the Android software installed on most tablets differs to the software installed on mobile handsets. Development is being undertaken to release a tablet version soon.

Connecting your device to your PC

My Android handset doesn’t connect to my computer. What do I do?
Please try one of the following:

  • Make sure the phone is not password locked
  • Make sure the phone has a valid SIM card in it
  • Make sure the phone is on the home screen
  • Make sure the phone is in USB Debugging mode
  • Try using a different cable to connect your handset to the PC
  • Put the phone in airplane mode
  • Try a different USB port
  • Restart the phone
  • Run Android.exe as administrator

When I connect the Android to my PC and run the application, it says ‘Device not connected. Please connect and try again’
This message is displayed if the Android handset has not been detected by the PC. To make sure the phone is detected, you may need to install the correct USB driver to the PC. To find the required drivers, you can either run the driversync application from the flash drive to install the driver from the list displayed, or download drivers from the handset manufacturer website.

Which deleted data types can I recover using the SmartPhone Recovery Pro for Android?
The SmartPhone Recovery Pro can recover deleted sent and received SMS messages directly from your Android handset. It can also recover several deleted files from your SD card (including .DOC, .XLS, .PPT, .PDF, .TXT, .MP3, .MOV, .MP4, .JPG and .PNG amongst others).

Which types of existing data on my Android handset can I retrieve and view on my computer?
You can retrieve existing SMS Text Messages, Contacts, Call Log, Calendar Entries, Internet History, Photos, Videos and Device Information.

Can I export the data I have retrieved and/or recovered with the SmartPhone Recovery Pro?
Yes, you can export data (except photos & videos) as an Excel file. You can also export photos and videos to your Local Drive.

I have selected Recovery but I do not see the data I know I deleted.
The Android has a limited number of memory locations that messages can be saved in. For the most part, these are taken up by the messages still saved on the phone. If you only see a few ‘recovered’ messages, this is because the phone is either full with other data or the messages have been overwritten with new data. Running the SmartPhone Recovery Pro multiple times or using another product will not recover any more data than the SmartPhone Recovery Pro has already recovered.

Can I use the software to transfer data back to my device?
No, the SmartPhone Recovery Pro cannot be used to transfer data back to your device. The software can only be used to view data from your device on your PC, and to export data to your PC.

Software Upgrade and Activation

I have paid for the full version of the software but it is still showing as a trial version
Please ensure that you have manually activated your software with an activation code by selecting ‘Upgrade to Full Version’ on the software license screen.

This will provide you with access to the full version of the software.

I cannot remember my password to reactivate my software
If you need to reactivate your software and cannot remember your password, you can request it be sent to the email address which you registered your activation code with upon purchase. Please note that too many incorrect password attempts will place your code into lockout mode.

Do not buy any infrared illuminator if your camera is not an IR camera. It has to have a removable IR-Cut filter that slides out of the way at night for the camera to recognize the IR.
