The eOcean Cam is a 3 Megapixel hemispheric recording network camera that will capture a 360-degree view with no moving parts by using a virtual PTZ function that controls the underwater camera over the Internet.

The eOcean Cam uses a 3 megapixel Mobotix camera delivers very clear VGA picture quality up to 30 fps. The uniquely engineered optically clear glass hyper-hemisphere dome is designed to provide distortion free images underwater, which reduces biofouling, and has superior scratch resistant features over softer acrylic half domes.

The eOcean Cam is perfect for pools and small aquariums. The camera can be mounted wherever you like; mounted on the bottom, supported upside down from the surface or ceiling, from the side of a pool, a wall, or pier piling.

A 1/2" CMOS sensor with 3.1 million pixels has 8x digital zoom, and can be controlled by a PTZ controller. The eOcean Cam lets you record hemispherical, single or double panorama, or simultaneous quad views, letting you cover a wide area with ease. Even when you zoom in, the camera is still recording the entire image.

You can save the full image later for research, so you can zoom in during live view to see close-up shots, knowing you are still recording the full 360-degree image.

You can then view the images from different perspectives using the virtual PTZ. The camera includes an internal DVR that accepts up to 32GB SD cards for over 30 hours of recording.

The eOceanCam Underwater PTZ Camera camera system interfaces with either Ethernet, Fiber-optics or wireless. Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) allows for a single cable solution.

Power-over-Ethernet
The camera can be controlled with separate Ethernet and power cables or through a single PoE cable. The maximium distance allowed is approximately 300 feet (100 meters). Underwater wet connectors allows the camera to be removed without the need to remove the cabling.

Fiber-optic Networks
Camera systems with fiber-optic cables as long as 20 kilometers can be connected to the Internet on shore or attached to a research vessel. The fiber and power cables are wet-mateable, making underwater connections and camera removal possible. With on-board motion detection, the camera will automatically wake up when a marine creature swims by.

Wireless Networks
Several wireless options are available. The camera's Ethernet cable is attached to a wireless adapter above the water surface. Distances up to 5 miles in a single hop are possible. Longer distances are possible through the use of multiple wireless nodes. The maximum range is currently 80 miles.

These systems can be purchased or leased. Custom housings, multi-camera systems, installation and maintenance contacts are also available.
