The SecureView is a B/W camera in a light bulb that screws into your existing outdoor/indoor light fixture and sends video to your television or VCR via your house power wiring. A small box plugs into an electrical outlet near your TV or VCR, and you can plug it in to see what's going on outside.

This PAR-38 style, outdoor weatherproof camera is disguised as a light bulb and comes with companion decoder. 6 built-in infrared illuminators see in total darkness. There are no wires to run, no holes to drill, and no antennas required. Package contains camera in a bulb, decoder, and RCA cable. All you need is a TV or VCR and a light socket.

    Flood light during the day provides excessive snow and the monitor screen is white,no picture viewable while the sun in shining.Night viewing is average.

    (Note, any camera with the sun shining right at it will not work well, and be washed out by the sun. It's better to put a shade over it, like a visor on a hat, so you can avoid it. At night, as you state, they work fine, though realize these are low resolution cameras that have been on the market for years, and are a great low cost solution to someone who can't afford a decent video surveillance system. Do not buy any infrared illuminator if your camera is not an IR camera. It has to have a removable IR cut filter that slides out of the way for the camera to recognize the IR.
