The Digitmaster Pro Series Tone Decoder is great if you need to know what numbers are dialed from a recording or another phone line.

A tone decoder will recognize the pitch of the number pressed and translate that into a number that you can then call back.

About the size of a pack of cigarettes, the Digitmaster DTMF Tone Decoder is one of the most accurate Tone Decoders on the market. The Digitmaster DTMF Tone Decoder has a built-in microphone so no connection is required from any source.

If you are a private investigator, law enforcement, concerned parent or spouse, you can tell exactly what number is called. Simply play your prerecorded tape recording or other audio source and the dialed numbers appear instantly on the Digitmaster's 16 digits LCD display.

Works well even with long play tape recorders and noisy scanners. If you prefer a direct connection, a mini jack is also provided along with a connecting cable. Plug into the output or listening device jack of your tape recorder or scanner and directly into the input jack of the Digitmaster decoder.

Digitmaster Pro Series Tone Decoder Operation Instructions:

The unit is powered by a 9v battery; remove the screw on the back to expose the insides where the batter is. The Digitmaster has a built in microphone, so you can play an audio tape or put it next to a speaker phone and it will automatically show you what numbers you are dialing. It will record up to 16 digits in each of 3 memories, and if more are entered, the oldest will be deleted. After decoding the tones, the display will show the number, then go blank after a few seconds. To view the numbers again, press input. The numbers are erased when the unit is turned off, so it has no memory.

Using the Internal Microphone:

Turn the unit on and hold the decoder 2-3 inches from a speaker with the mic facing the speaker. It's next to the on/off switch. As soon as tones are played, they will show up. Good if you have a recording of the call, you can play it back to tell you what number you called.

Using The Cable Connector:

Plug the cable into the jack market "EXT" and into a tone source output. Aon a tape recorder this is normally the earphone or headphone jack. Play the tones and adjust the volume until the Digitmaster displays the digits.

Using A Direct Connect Cable:

Plug the supplied cable into a standard modular telephone jack and into the tone decoder jack market "EXT". As numbers are touched on your touch tone phone, they will appear on the decoder, up to 16 digits.

Troubleshooting:

When decoding tones, the speed of playback and volume level of hte tape recorder is critical. In many cases, tapes must be played back on the same recorder that they were recorded on in order to decode DTMF tones.
