The AXIS 292 Network Video Decoder decodes MPEG-4 or Motion JPEG video, as well as audio streams, from Axis video sources into high-quality analog video and audio signals.

This allows analog video devices such as monitors and video switches to be connected to Axis network video products. AXIS 292 is ideal for displaying live video on monitors in locations where a PC is not required, for showing e.g. images from entrance cameras in stores, product displays in shops and malls, etc.

AXIS 292 can also be used to easily and cost-effectively connect existing analog video surveillance systems at different locations. Video from analog cameras, optionally combined with audio streams, can be transferred via Axis video servers over an IP network, bridging long or shorter distances, and be converted back to analog video and audio by AXIS 292 decoders at any location on the network.
