This is a great set up for a medium sized business or home. It uses 8 Day/Night cameras that can be put indoor or outdoor. They will record color video during the day, and with the help of infrared sensors, record b/w video at night or in darkness.

You can set up any combination of cameras to cover your property. Some good choices are the front and back doors from inside and out. That leaves 4 other cameras that can go in the back office, warehouse, or back of the store for a business. For a home, put them in the kitchen, stairway, hall, or bedroom. Lock the PC based DVR away in an unused area, and even if the cameras are destroyed, you still have what happened before that on disc.

They record using a color CCD 1/4 inch image sensor that produces 420 to 470 TV lines. The 12 Infrared sensors will do a good job of recording in very low light situations. If you need to record in total darkness, you should consider a stronger night vision camera, or using an Illuminator in really dark conditions. High security areas might need a vandal proof camera.
