The 5 Megapixel GSM GPRS Snapshot Camera has up to 5 Megapixel Image resolution.
3G is really too slow to transmit high quality video, so the answer is high resolution photo's of whatever you are looking for. The camera does offer a video streaming mode, however, it's really for setting up the camera to make sure all settings are to your needs.
You can also preview the video when you connect the camera to a Cat5 cable, then to your PC. You can pull it up in Internet Explorer since there is an embedded web server on the camera.
The 5 Megapixel GSM GPRS Snapshot Camera also has a store and forward function. When the GSM/GPRS network temporary is not available, the pictures will be stored in the camera and then be forwarded to the center server when the GSM network is available.

The snapshot pictures from this GPS camera will be transferred to CMS by FTP protocol or EMail, based on GPRS/EDGE/WCDMA mobile network. In this mode, the cameras can work well, no matter if the SIM card has a public IP address or private IP address. The whole architecture is based on Client/Server, and the whole system is composed of three parts: the front-end whSnapshotCam, CMS(Central Management System), and the back-end console Client software.
The CMS software can manage up to three thousand of the front-end whSnapshotCams, and up to 10 client users, and the hardware platform is based on double-CPUs, with TI advanced DaVinci processor for media processing, to increasing the system's scalability and stability.
You can power the camera three ways: Elecricity, backup battery supply, and solar. When you connect the camera to electricity, the backup battery will continue to power the camera for a set length of time. An optional Solar panel can be added with the required hardware to support it.
Other functions included Multi communication ways (MMS, Email, FTP, smart and scalable integrated PC software).
Night vision: Infrared LEDs, effective range up to 20 Meters, enables the camera to capture images in dark environment.

It's going to require you to know technical computer info like your ftp & smtp passwords, router passwords, opening ports on the router & such, and if you can't program a VCR, then you really don't even want to get involved with this. You have to have some technical knowledge to set this camera up.
If you know all your info, and you can program a VCR, then you should be able to get this camera to work.

Do not buy any infrared illuminator if your camera is not an IR camera. It has to have a removable IR cut filter that slides out of the way for the camera to recognize the IR.
