The Digital Video Pen is an incredible device that holds a digital video camcorder with battery and memory, inside an ordinary looking pen. Some issues when operating the pen:
First charge it for about 1.5 hours.
To use the Digital Video Pen it, turn the camera on by lightly pushing the top button once. The light should turn yellow.
To start recording push the button again and the light should turn blue. You are now recording. It will record until the battery dies, about 2+ hours.
If you want to stop recording before that, just push the top button lightly again. After a second or two, the light should turn yellow again. Now the DVR pen is in stand by mode. To record another video, push the top button again and it goes back to a blue light. Turn off with a push of the button.
To turn the pen off, hold down the button for about 3 seconds until the light goes off.
To recap the basic operation of the DVR Video Pen:
Turn pen on with slight push to the top button; be gently, it's a delicate machine.
The yellow light means its ready to go.
Push the button once, wait 1-2 seconds and the light turns blue; now its recording.
To stop recording push the top button once and wait 1-2 seconds for the light to turn yellow.
To record again push the button once and wait for it to turn blue.
To stop recording push the button once and it will turn yellow in a second or two.
If you want to turn the pen off, hold down button until the yellow light goes off.
There are times the pen will be stuck either in blue or yellow and it won't turn off. You can either let the battery die and recharge, and it will be fine, or grab a small paper clip and do a hard reset by sticking the end in the tiny hole under the light. That is the hard reset button.
The pen should operate normally after that. It has to be charged for about 1.5 to 2 hours before use. You can charge it 1 of 3 ways:
With the USB cable or plugged directly into the USB port
With the wall socket adapter
With the car lighter adapter
To watch the video, turn the pen off and plug it into the computer according to #1 above. I was not able to get it to work with my new iMac, so as far as I know, this will only work with a PC. I can't even get it to open in Parallels, only when I reboot in Boot
You have to find the drive, it won't just pop up, and it will appear as a flash drive, under your list of drives. Open that up and dig through the folders to find the videos. Drag them to a folder on your desktop and open the software that you can download the free software to view it from Video LAN - VLC Media Player.
In Video Lan you can then adjust the time/date, image quality, and play the video back. The codec of the video is one that is very unusual and Quicktime or Windows Media will not play them.
We have to admit, it's the coolest gadget we have seen in a long time.

For an easy to use item, it is kinda complicated to use. I wanted continously record until battery dies out but for some reason the cam shuts down. I do get to the video but I was disappointed at the length of time it recorded. My max time is 10 mins. Am i pressing the record button wrong or the thing needs recharging. I recharged the cam ALL night but it still shuts down. Very annoying.

hi i after dealing with two sellers i got on but it wont charge its a dvr 640x280 its been on for 3 hours and still the light is flashing I've reset and still no joy I'm charging from PC any ideas

I'am trying to download the installer witch come with my pen! but a message comes up saying it is damaged or corrupted ,the installer disk is ,STORM 2008-beta 0723.exe
