The driver update to the DVR pen allows two things:
  1. A way to put a time/date stamp on the video
  2. Update the DVR Pen to record longer than the battery life for applications where they were connected to a larger battery
If you don't want the date/time or to hook it to an external battery, don't run the update.

If you want to remove the time/date stamp, download the update v.1.3 file and unstuff it. Plug in the Pen DVR and locate it on the PC.

Unstuff the file and there are two files that you will drag over to the pen. called "Magic.bin" and "AkResData.Bin".

Go to the lower right tray and click "Remove Hardware" to eject the Pen DVR. Turn it off and turn it on again. It should remove the date/time stamp.

    I have followed all your instructions, but may pen doesn´t change the timestamps, it hold some previous date/time configurates from the manufacturer, could you give me some indications???

    This "update v.1.3" is good for MP9 ,or is just for next generation that with higher resolution (640-480) version? If is good for MP9 , how i can put external larger battery ?I think via some USB battery adapter. This Pen Camera i can use like USB Webcam ? When i connect to PC via USB if i push the button , sometime the XP reconigse like new video device "Anyka" and tell me now i can use the device .Other time i action the button the light stop blinking and turn to blue the conection via USB is removed similar like i stop via "safely Remove Hardware" .Is OK to do this? I format FAT32 the MP9 ,this i made for give a name to MP9 to find between more USB drives in "My Computer " , i see after "{format" the firmware soft is OK is not deleted and the device now have a name . In User Manual i faund advice to format in "FAT" . Waiting for indications.Thanks karpi

    how do i get this pen to work for longer then 15 min. i have a 2gig pen. once i have recorded for 15 min. the pen will not stay on the blue light

    I have a problem with my SPYPEN, once i on it teh blue light flashes and immediately yellow light is flashing, bcoz of this no recording is possible, is it due to low battey and the recordings show zero bytes and teh window media files opens some files and does not open with zero bytes memory. Please help how to get teh recoding done & alos how to check teh battery is fully charged.
