  • Color Outdoor Day/Night IR Camera With Built-In DVR

    July 13th, 2009

We had two calls today from people who are being victims of punks who want to mess up their property. This not only makes our blood boil, we want to start smashing punks heads with 2 x 4′s to teach them a bloody lesson to mind their manners.

One person needed a camera that could record the video directly to an SD card without getting a spending the money on a complete video surveillance system.

So we suggested the Color Day Night IR Camera with Built-in DVR.

Upgraded Spy Pen Digital Video Recorder Now 640 x 480
Color Day Night IR Camera with Built-in DVR

What we love about this product is that you can record the video into internal SD cards as long as you can run power to the camera. It’s hidden in a weatherproof slot on the back, and can take video up to 30 fps.

This allows you to have an inexpensive 1 camera system for those of you on a budget, or just wishing to come up with a cost effective solution.

Punk Arrested For Peeping With A Hidden Camera

    July 9th, 2009

Ladies, a punk was picked up secretly recording video of at least 10 women while in public. Thank goodness a loss prevention officer from the store noticed the pervert acting strangely, and ended up finding a hidden camera in his briefcase.

He would set it down on the ground and film up their dresses, and actually went into the dressing rooms to find women undressing. I tell you, if I was waiting on my wife, and I see this punk walk into the dressing room, I would lay the smack down.

The sad part is we don’t know when we sell a similar hidden camera to a pervert. We don’t ask them, are you a pervert, or will you use this to record people in dressing rooms. We make the transaction and continue with our life.

The sad thing is that for a similar type of hidden camera, a wired button camera that connects to a pocket DVR, is pretty very hard, though not impossible to detect, because it’s not sending a wireless signal.

However, many places like doctors offices and changing rooms have found wireless hidden cameras, and those can be found real easily with a hidden camera detector like the LensFinder Dual Mode Hidden Camera Detector.

The LensFinder can not only find those wireless cameras by homing in on the signal it products, it can also be used to find a wired or wireless camera. It shoots out bright red flashing lights. Point them around your room, and if there is a camera lens, it will reflect the red flashing lights, allowing you to see any wired or wireless camera lens.

Ladies, and men, protect your privacy with a simple dual purpose bug and hidden camera detector like the LensFinder.

Surveillance Cameras Catch People Dumping Their Junk On The Road

    July 3rd, 2009

Philadelphia has really stepped up their efforts to catch people dumping their junk on the road. In video surveillance photo’s in broad daylight, people are seen dumping their junk right on a quiet side street.

And the pile keeps growing and growing in the photo’s they show. I can see this costing a city tens of thousands a year just to have guys go out with trucks, round it up, and dispose of it.

This pretty much happens everywhere. I remember my old friend Terry when I live in the Gas Lamp district of San Diego. He sub-let me some warehouse space, and on one wall was completely covered with medium sized boxes. He had some kidney & liver problems, and I think he finally had his operation. Anyway, he had to do some type of dialysis, and he was getting these boxes of the fluids, and after he was finished doinghis thing, he was storing his cleansed fluids still in the bags & boxes they came in, and stacking them up in his space.

So one wall of this warehouse had all these boxes that I really didn’t go near. After I moved back to Arizona when my Mother passed away, I hear that all the boxes were found dumped off the road in a wooded area near downtown. The mess must have been terrible, and it made the local news. So, illegal dumping has been gin on for years.

We get calls all the time about illegal dumping and what can be done about it. Well for one, we have a couple business security options for pole mounted cameras. One is a Solar Powered Wireless Video Surveillance System, which can have a license plate capture camera to get a good shot of the dumpers.

It has an optional solar panel for areas with no electricity, and you can hook up an IP camera, and the wireless 2.4GHz access point will let you access the video online. Solar panels will keep things going, as long as there is 1-6 hours of sun light per day, and 3 sealed batteries will give you about a week of video.

We have other Outdoor security cameras to catch illegal dumping, and you can call us to see about a system that will work for your needs.

how do i link my security camera DVR over the internet so i can view it remotely?

    July 2nd, 2009
    BOWEL BAG asked:

my DVR can be viewed in the local network but not outside it. how do i go about doing this? i heard there were two options: port forwarding on a router or purchase a DNS address. i don’t think the port FWD thing will work too well becuz this is set up in a public rec center and i dont want to get in trouble for our equip. conflicting with their internet. so if DNS were to be the option, what all would i need to get it up and running?

US Spy Satellite Program Fails To Launch

    June 23rd, 2009

In an eye popping move, the Obama administration has decided not to grow its domestic spying bigger, and intrude further than they are already doing in our lives. Our Department of Homeland security, the one that could not get water to Katrina survivors, decided it won’t EXPAND a current Interior Dept. spy satellite program that would further intrude into our lives.

White House to Abandon Spy-Satellite Program

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration plans to kill a controversial Bush administration spy satellite program at the Department of Homeland Security, according to officials familiar with the decision.

The program came under fire from its inception two years ago. Democratic lawmakers said it would lead to domestic spying.

The program was to share satellite information with state, county, and city governments for threat and emergency preparedness, and to identify weak links in port defense. It would have created the National Applications Office.

The plans to shutter the office signal Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano’s decision to refocus the department’s intelligence on ensuring that state and local officials get the threat information they need, the official said. She also wants to make the department the central point in the government for receiving and analyzing terrorism tips from around the country, the official added.

Lawmakers alerted Ms. Napolitano of their concerns about the program-that the program would violate the Fourth amendment right to be protected from unreasonable searches-before her confirmation hearing.

Once she assumed her post, Ms. Napolitano ordered a review of the program and concluded the program wasn’t worth pursuing, the homeland official said. Department spokeswoman Amy Kudwa declined to speak about the results of the review but said they would be announced shortly.

So it comes down to them not wanting to get sued for violitating our rights. Also, Los Angeles Chief William Bratton, spoke refreshingly when he said:

…he police chiefs would be concerned about privacy protections and whether using military satellites for domestic purposes would violate the Posse Comitatus law, which bars the use of the military for law enforcement in the U.S.

The further erosion of our rights, bit by bit, chunk by chunk has been ongoing for decades. Can we see this as a pause in the action? Nahhhh…. Get ready for 1984…

Houston Judge Busted For Keying Neighbors Car

    June 22nd, 2009

Seems a dispute between neighbors caught a Texas district judge allegedly keying his neighbors car. Video surveillance the victim recorded shows the judge walking past his neighbors car & moving his hand as he comes near the vehicle. He was actually caught more than once doing this.

While the judge is claiming his innocence, there is a simmering dispute between the two homeowners. Seems the guy who’s car was keyed complained about the judges barking dog, and the judge had a problem if the guy’s car was blocking the sidewalk.

I really hate barking dogs that irresponsible idiots won’t do anything about & just yap on & on & on. Thank the Lord Costa Mesa has a barking dog law that will eventually stop a yapping mutt.

Anyway, we have reported time & time again about neighbors being so sick of each other that they would do things they would normally not do, even in some cases killing them. Our neighbors are a large hispanic family that runs some type of business, and they are constantly waking me up throwing shovels & wheel barrows in their trucks @ the crack of dawn, and it does upset me & I am tired of it. So I can see how someone could snap, though it should have been the guy who was tired of hearing the barking dog, not the owner of the inconsiderate mutt.

We just found the next generation in wireless camera that you can set up to watch over your property, and catch any of the punks that have been messing around with your cars. The 2.4GHz Digital Wireless Camera Set is digitally encrypted, and it uses a frequency hopping technology where it jumps to a different frequency if it can’t deliver a clear signal. Why we have not tried this yet, since they have not come in yet, if it does work, it will be a revival of the 2.4GHz technology cameras because right now, they are prone to interference from other 2.4GHz devices like routers & mobile phones.

2.4 GHz Digital Wireless Camera Set
2.4 GHz Digital Wireless Camera Set

It’s an outdoor IP-44 rated, wireless infrared surveillance camera that can see up to 25 feet in the dark, and has a built in microphone, which most cameras don’t have. It sends the signal to a receiver over a range of channels using a frequency hopping technology. The signal will fluctuate between 2402Mhz ~ 2480Mhz, so you always have clear reception.

The receiver has dual outputs; USB or A/V, so you can hook it up to a TV, or a PC, and one thing that I am told makes it better than the VersaCam SuperIR is that it will show a split or quad screen, so you can display up to 4 cameras at one time. Choose between 640 x 480 or 320 x 240 size video, though we don’t know at what fps yet.

The 2.4GHz Digital Wireless Camera set send signals up to 800 feet, an up to 1,600 feet with an optional high strength antenna. It’s an easy to set-up and use 1-4 camera surveillance system that you can use to protect your home or business. We expect them in by the middle of July, and are taking advanced orders for the 2.4GHz Digital Wireless Camera.
