Is it illegal to use spy camera to record someone without their permission?

I live in Ontario, Canada and I’m wondering if using a spy pen camera to record someone is against the law? Could I take legal action against this individual who recorded me without my knowledge?

   not if your out in the public with all the devices now such as cells that you could record him

   If this was being filmed in a public place, than I’m pretty sure that there’s nothing wrong with it. It depends on the circumstances of you being filmed, which you neglected to mention. Hope there was nothing embarassing on it!

   It depends. If you were in a public place were you are not expected to have privacy, then no. If you were at your own home then yes you can.
