The Worlds Smallest Vehicle DVR and GPS Data Logger

We find this little, itty, bitty vehicle camera with GPS called, what else, The Worlds Smallest Vehicle DVR and GPS Data Logger. And we are talking real small, yet, it records super clear video while the camera is powered by the lighter plug-in adapter. It has built-in GPS Logger functions, so it can show you where the vehicle has been, and the speed it was going at any point during the trip.

These are great if you have a fleet of vehicles, or if you drive for a living because it will show your exact speed, with a movie of what was going on, and where you are. There is also a G-force sensor that will show when a bump or curb was hit, or accident. One customer, who bought a different model reports:

Now here’s the kicker, it’s also a car vandalism camera that will also run all night and not drain your battery! If you have a hot lighter, or a 12V plug, you can plug in the cable and will run all night. It would help if there was some light, as there is no night vision, though it’s a good, 1 camera system that will record all night to micro SD cards, and you can catch the SOB who has been scratching your paint. Put it anywhere in your car, or cover it with a Twinkie wrapper with a hole in it for the camera to shoot out.

We had someone ask us for the firmware upgrade for the Dual Camera Vehicle Blackbox GPS Logger With G Sensor Recorder And Audio, which was not on the site. We also posted the professional installation instructions to hardwire it to your fuse box. You would have to cut off the plug that goes into the cigarette lighter, and just follow the instructions. It’s super small and fits in your hand, though don’t let the small size fool you; its capable of recording video, tracking vehicle location, and telling you all the drivers habits.

Dual Camera Vehicle Blackbox GPS Logger With G Sensor Recorder And Audio

The benefits are 2 cameras, one watching out front, the other watching your driver. You can watch both after the fact. It also has a built-in G sensor that will tell you when he is accelerating, decelerating, speeding, hits a bump or gets into an accident. Everything is saved to reports you can access on your PC.

Fluid, 640 x 480 video is very clear at 24fps. You get about an hour or so per GB, and accepts up to a 32GB full size SD card.

While the (night) quality isn’t as good as daylight videos, it is more than adequate for our purposes. The in cab view has a greenish tint to it, but is more the ok to observe driver behaviors. The out the dash view is excellent in more urban environments where there is of course more ambient light. In rural areas it is dimmer but certainly usable.

Until now, you had to keep it inside the car, or in luggage or a back-pack.

The iTrail is a GPS Logger, which is different than a GPS Tracker. A tracker allows you to watch a vehicle or person in real time over the Internet, no matter where the tracker is. It requires either a monthly service, like a mobile phone, or you pay per use.
