Watch Your Nanny With The Vivotek IP8132 Mini Network Camera

    Thursday, May 26th, 2011

If you want to watch your kids, elderly parents, or pets during the day, and you are on a budget, you are going to love this. Vivotek just introduced the Vivotek IP8132 1MP Mini Indoor Network Camera With H.264 Compression, which is a tiny 1 megapixel network camera that is perfect for watching what’s going on at your home when you are at work, or for watching what is going on at your office or work when you are not there.

I read on a box of envelopes that value is where price and quality meet, and that is what you get with Vivotek IP cameras; high quality at an incredible price. And at $159.95, you can finally afford to watch your home with high quality cameras that deliver high quality video. No more fuzzy images where you can’t even make out who it is. A megapixel network camera can record crystal clear video for you to later review.

The Worlds Smallest Vehicle DVR and GPS Data Logger
Vivotek IP8132 1MP Mini Indoor Network Camera With H.264 Compression

And the great part is that all you need is either a fairly new PC to install the Vivotek capture software, or if you don’t have a PC, pick up a 4 camera Vivotek network video recorder, or a 8 channel Vivotek NVR that will play nice with your cameras.

So you can put 2-4 of these puppies in side, or add a couple outdoor IR bullet IP cameras.

Clear Glasses Wired Hidden Camera With No Noticeable Lens

    Wednesday, January 12th, 2011

We finally found the ultra covert Clear Glasses Wired Hidden Camera, which is a hidden camera stuck inside the side of the frame, so you don’t look like some idiot wearing huge sun glasses with the camera right in the middle, above your nose.

    Clear Glasses Wired Hidden Camera
    Clear Glasses Wired Hidden Camera

This is a CCTV wired hidden camera that is just a camera. It has an output that plugs into any Pocket DVR that we have, like the small SD card recording 3 Hour HD Handheld Pocket DVR, or the more robust 1280 x 960 Law Enforcement Grade DVR With 60GB HD.

Plug it in the DVR, and start recording clear video surveillance images. Perfect for Coppers, gum shoes, investigators, or seeing what your competitors are up to at the next trade show.

Are You Breaking The Law By Recording Audio?

    Wednesday, September 1st, 2010

We put up a couple blog posts last week that we felt many of our clients and newsletter subscribers could appreciate, though we forgot to put it on our Spy Gear Blog. Seems if you are recording hidden video with audio, or audio recordings of phone calls or private meeting in 12+ states where they prohibit the recording of any audio without the concent of both parties. Even though it’s legal in up to 38 states, it’s the 12 that make it illegal that will give you big problems, as the Federal law also makes it illegal.

One of the blog posts is called "Death of the Spy Camera", and the other is "Soon Only Law Enforcement Can Buy Spy Cameras," and if you plan on recording any video with any of our spy cameras that also record audio, or you use a digital audio recorder, you might want to check up on your states laws, as the fines are large.

The Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press published this list of states and their telephone & audio recording laws. They have some great articles on their site & it’s worthy to book mark it. I checked California, and both parties need to be informed, so what about the secret recordings of Mel Gibson? They are illegal, and should have not been played on the air.

And judges have ruled that recording the conversation, when an expectation of privacy can be expected, carry the same penalty as intercepting a phone call or a wire tap.

    FYI.

Shoot Ultra Clear Surveillance Video With The HD Pocket DVR With Touch Screen

    Thursday, August 26th, 2010

"Oh, My God!", I screamed in my best Moon Unit Zappa impersenation when I saw the sample video from the HD Pocket DVR With Touch Screen. If you have no clue as to what I am referring to, look up the Zappa song, "Valley Girl."

Anyway, even with the distortion YouTube brings to any video, this sample was absolutely, positively, not questions about it, the clearest video we have ever seen from any Pocket DVR or Spy Camera, ever.

Though who the heck am I to say that, besides being a Spy Camera Expert, with built in HD video cameras for eyes that record H.264 video at 1080p. You would think I was a cyborg Chameleon or something. You be the judge for yourself:

There is also a demo of using the touch screens on the product page, so if you work in loss prevention, law enforcement, private investigations, I know you’re drool is already reaching the ground. For the rest of you, watching the video on the product page of them going through the videos made me realize that these little Pocket DVR’s are great 1 camera recording systems. They normally come with a cable that will allow you to hook up any type of CCCT camera you like to the DVR.

So you can have a tiny, 1 camera, video recording station with you at all times. Set it up in a warehouse with the screw cover over the button cam, and it will appear to be a phillips head screw, not a camera. Hook up any of our wired hidden cameras, or wireless hidden cameras, and also dump the video into the Pocket DVR, and you have your recording of what the camera is seeing. Great if you need to move it around a factory or office, or for that matter, your home to watch what your teenagers or housekeeper is up to, or your better 1/2.

They can also run off electricity, so you don’t have to worry about runnig out of battery if you are using it in an indoor application.

There are so many uses for a pocket DVR, and if you need the very best recording quality you can get, the HD Pocket DVR With Touch Screen is it.

    Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

We are finally able to offer you a do-it-yourself hidden camera kit with the XtremeLife Covert Black Box DVR With 1 Year Battery. This self contained DVR with long life battery is about the size of a deck of cards, and can last up to a year in stand-by mode! You get 20 hours of continious video, which is great for people who need something inside their car to catch the punk who has been damaging it.

It comes with a waterproof camera, and a PIR or passive infrared sensor, which will only trip when a person comes in front of it, and won’t wake up when a flag or curtain is flapping in the breeze.

XtremeLife Covert Black Box DVR With 1 Year Battery

The camera is a tiny pinhole camera that can be put behind a little hole you make in anything, a wall, consumer item, or hamburger box. What we like about this set up is that it can be put anywhere you need for a very covert video set-up.

While you can make your own hidden camera inside all sorts of things like any empty cardboard box of food or snacks, it already comes pre-made into 3 different hidden cameras with built-in DVR:

So now we are finally getting one step closer to catching that punk messing with your ride…

The Edic-mini Tiny16 A46 Digital Audio Recorder Looks Like A Flash Card

    Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

We are slowly adding all the Edic audio recorders from the Russian company TS-Market, and the Edic-mini Tiny16 A46 Digital Audio Recorder is pretty neat.

The Edic-mini Tiny16 A46 Digital Audio Recorder looks like an innocent flash drive, yet records audio up to 28 hours. About 3" x 1/2" x 1/4", this tiny device is easy to use and records professional grade audio.

    Edic-mini Tiny16 A46 Digital Audio Recorder
    Edic-mini Tiny16 A46 Digital Audio Recorder

All Edic models are professional grade audio recorders, and they are shrunk to micro proportions, so that’s why you will pay more than huge digital audio recorders. If size is an issue, one of the 2 dozen Edic Tiny digital audio recorders will work for you.

The Edic-mini Tiny16 A46 Digital Audio Recorder has a built in Li-pol rechargeable battery that will also last for up to 2 months in stand-by mode. If you drop down to quality, you can record for up to 4 days. The tiny built in microphone works up to 30 feet or 12 meters.

With voice activation mode, and scheduled recording, you will find the Edic-mini Tiny16 A46 Digital Audio Recorder is very flexible.

And we gotta warn you that 12+ states have laws requiring both parties to be informed they are being recorded, so you better talk to an attorney in your state to get the skinny about this, as the Feds are all over this, and actually seizing our spy cameras that record audio.

The LensFinder Could Have Helped Catch Man Video Taping Women At Gym

    Friday, August 28th, 2009

A Lake Forest, CA man was arrested for planting a hidden camera in a plant at a gym where he worked. The guy was stupid enough to hide the camera in a plant while people were there. Luckily a women who was working out spotted the creep and he was arrested.

Then we see that the former technology manager for Citizens Gas Fuel Co. is facing criminal charges for allegedly spying on women inside bathrooms at the company office in Adrian, MI. A women noticed a hole in a tissue box, and notified police. This guy had been doing this for 1-2 years.

Haven’t we reported on this 1/2 dozen times? Ladies, my stubby fingers are getting raw pounding out these blogs about perverts out there. You have to be diligent and always have your guard up when you go to gyms, locker rooms, dressing rooms, and changing rooms at doctors or department stores.

One way to quickly find any hidden audio bugs, and wired or wireless cameras is with a dual purpose bug detector like the LensFinder RF Dual Mode Hidden Camera Detector. What we like about the LensFinder is that it’s not going to break the bank.

The LensFinder not only will home in on any wireless camera or device sending a wireless signal like a wireless camera or audio bug. It can operate in a range of frequencies where most bugs live, and it has a built-in LED array that flashes bright lights. You point them around your room and look through the big opening. If you come across a camera lens, no matter how small, you can see its reflection in the glass back @ you.

It’s battery operated, compact for a pocket or a purse, and it’s always handy so you can quickly scan a rest room or changing room for cameras before it’s too late.

So for the price of a nice dress or suit, you can protect your privacy with the The LensFinder RF Dual Mode Hidden Camera Detector. Watch the video on the page & check out the special offer just for you…

Tips for Hiding Your Tracks Online

    Tuesday, July 28th, 2009

Today we will feature a guest article by Britney Wilkins, who writes for the online college.

Whether you’re specifically trying to hide out from a stalker, keep your online presence minimal, or just prevent any damage from being done, hiding your online tracks is important to protecting your personal identity, your data and your reputation. From social media to online shopping to password-protected sites and accounts, there are countless ways that we can reveal personal information about ourselves without even realizing it. Here are several reasonable tips for hiding your tracks online, for the sake of self-preservation in all forms.

    • Browse privately. Whatever browser you have, select the setting that allows you to browse privately.
    • Watch your cookies. Change your preferences so that your browser doesn’t accept cookies, or at the very least, you don’t accept third-party cookies. Cookies store information about your web surfing and online habits, so it’s best to clean them up or refuse to accept them.
    • Don’t let your browser remember passwords. Never let a site save your passwords or credit card information, and try to change your browser settings so that it doesn’t automatically fill in password boxes either.
    • Clear history. If you’re worried about another person in your office or household spying on your web surfing habits, clear your history every time you log off.
    • Encrypt files and e-mail messages. You don’t have to worry about anyone intercepting your messages if you encrypt them in the first place. Use a free service or choose to encrypt attachments like Adobe PDFs before you send.
    • Lock your social media sites to approved friends only. Twitter, Facebook and other social media sites let you control privacy settings so that only you can determine the people who view your accounts.
    • Don’t log onto open Wi-Fi accounts. Airports, cafes and libraries often have open access Wi-Fi accounts, but those networks are especially vulnerable to hackers and online spying. Make sure your personal wireless service is password protected.
    • Use an anonymous proxy server. An anonymous proxy server acts as a go-between for your IP address and the greater Internet, meaning that when you visit websites, the anonymous middle address will show up, not yours.
    • Don’t shop online: It’s extremely convenient to shop online, but if you’re seriously worried about someone stealing your credit card information, don’t bother paying bills or sharing your data on the Internet.

Thanks Britney, though there are sites like EyeSpyPro.com that are completely secure, PCI compliant, and does not sell any of our customers information.
