fuze asked: Trying to connect a security camera DVR to the internet.
I’m a bit confused. I’ve entered my IP, Subnet mask and Gateway as it appears in my router configuration (and the data sheet provided by the ISP). This is not working.
My actual IP appears to be different when looking at “Find my IP” sites online (172.16.**.** vs 24.155.***.** ) Could this be a problem?
I know my question isn’t clear, but it’s a bit much to type.
Thanks

Me in TN asked: I basically need a “nanny cam” to record (motion activated) activity in my bedroom, when I’m not home. Things are getting stolen. It has to be not noticeable. I’ve been looking into it. Is it better (as far the recording of the action) to get a USB DVR (just plugs into PC), a portable DVR or a DVR PCI Card? I can’t have one that plugs into my VCR for 1) I record shows while I’m @ work & 2), it would be noticeable if my VCR cut on when someone walked into the room. There are so many options. Is it better to get it separate or something that already has everything needed? I need a pinhole or covert camera that motion activated & can record on something other than my VCR. Color & audio would be a plus, but not necessary. I’ve reasearched till my head hurts, but I’m still no expert & want to make the right decision. Thanks!

dave49310 asked: I run my own business, I’d like to set up some cameras. Are there any laws regarding this other than the “you may be under surveillance” decals.
Another question, as far as installing systems for other business, is there a way to skirt the law as far as not having this license and that license, basically setting them up and having the customer be the installer by plugging the main power supply in?
I’m just a small business looking for more opportunities to make a buck.
If I can’t skirt the law that way, letting the customer install it, what are the current requirements for being a security system installer in Montana?

Senior Year YOG 2010 asked: so….my mom has a short video that she recorded on our DVR. We have Dish network from AT&T. How can we copy this onto a CD, or even just the computer (or my laptop). I was thinking of just using video camera and taping it while holding the camera, but the quality isnt good. Ideas?

Brian T asked: The company out of California is restructuring and has no contacts. Can’t find anyone in Cleveland that knows anything about DVR’s. System no longer is recording and cannot access cameras online off the premises. I have 12 cameras hooked up to the system and not sure how to troubleshoot to see why its not recording.
