We read where some pervert in Fullerton, CA was caught installing spyware on computers that would allow him to snap illicit photos of unsuspecting women. Seems a Trevor Harwell had used his position with a computer service company to secretly put spyware on dozens of computers so he could take pictures of women without their knowing about it.

Nice guy, eh? He took photos and videos of women undressed or changing clothes, and stored them on a remote server. Hundreds of thousands of still images and videos were found on his computer, and the worst part is he was putting up a pop-up warning to use steam for several minutes to clean the sensor, so women would put them in the bathroom while they took a shower.

This pervert is really sick. And guess how he did it? People took their computer in for repair, and he would install the software without their noticing it.

It’s super easy to find out if your computer has been a victim by checking your "/Library/WebServer/Documents" director for "Camcapture," a program that was installed. Or do a search for “Camcapture” and if you find it, delete it.
