This article gives us another reason (like we need one?) to get as many guns and bullets as you can and tuck them away for a rainy day.
It seems the FBI has developed a secretive snitch network called InfraGard, which is made up of large corporations, bankers, utility companies; mainly companies that maintain or own the infrastructure of the country. It also includes 350 of the Fortune 500.
The FBI Deputizes Business
Today, more than 23,000 representatives of private industry are working quietly with the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security. The members of this rapidly growing group, called InfraGard, receive secret warnings of terrorist threats before the public does—and, at least on one occasion, before elected officials. In return, they provide information to the government, which alarms the ACLU. But there may be more to it than that. One business executive, who showed me his InfraGard card, told me they have permission to “shoot to kill” in the event of martial law.
Shoot to kill? Us? Martial law? Why on earth would we ever need that to come up? I don’t think the Founders of our country ever intended it’s little baby, the Republic to have the capability to change into a tyrannical government. While the people have slept for 150 years, things have slowly changed and we no are longer living in the land of the free. You did read the Martial Law Survival Guide over @ The Bacon Report?
This secret network is closed to us, the People who created the FBI in the first place. Well, we didn’t create the FBI, we created a Government that is suppose to serve us & it created the FBI.
Their website, www.infragard.net, looks innocent enough:
BECOME A MEMBER OF INFRAGARD
The benefits of joining InfraGard include:
Network with other companies that help maintain our national infrastructure. Quick Fact: 350 of our nation’s Fortune 500 have a representative in InfraGard.
Gain access to an FBI secure communication network complete with VPN encrypted website, webmail, listservs, message boards and much more.
Learn time-sensitive, infrastructure related security information from government sources such as DHS and the FBI.
Get invitations and discounts to important training seminars and conferences.
Best of all, there is no cost to join InfraGard
Now we have a Government that spys on us and makes us feel like criminals. I am sure AT&T is a member of this elite group, see a couple of our prior blog posts on this subject 38, 47, 67, 74.
This is an ultra elite group which you can only be invited to. Sorry, you, Joe Six-pack are not important enough to belong.
You won’t get the daily briefings on their secret, encrityped network:
The InfraGard website advertises this. In its list of benefits of joining InfraGard, it states: “Gain access to an FBI secure communication network complete with VPN encrypted website, webmail, listservs, message boards, and much more.”
InfraGard members receive “almost daily updates” on threats “emanating from both domestic sources and overseas,” Hershman says.
“We get very easy access to secure information that only goes to InfraGard members,” Schneck says. “People are happy to be in the know.”
People? Which people? Not us serf people, not me. I am not happy when I read stuff like this. I don’t know who to believe regarding 9/11 & the bogus wars on everything imaginable. I tend to not believe the official version of things and rely on other sources.
While on the surface, under all this war on terror rhetoric, this appears to be a good thing by making sure any wacko does not go and shut down the power grid or throw ricine in the water, it appears when they say they can shoot to kill, that to me is where I draw the line. When they enlist companies like AT&T to snoop on us and turn it over to the Government to hurt us, that is where I draw the line.
Where do you draw the line? Let me hear your comments, or do you even care???
