A varifocal 3~9mm varifocal lens is standard, so you can manually zoom in or out to get the best shot for your location. EyeSpyPro.com Hosted Video Recording Service

    Monday, November 1st, 2010

We just introduced EyeSpyPro’s HVR or hosted video recording service, where we take care of storing your surveillance video, so you don’t have to worry about. This service is ideal for homeowners and small business owners with multiple locations. What we do is send you pre-configured cameras that you just have to install and connect to a switch that is connected to your Internet router. As long as you have Internet access, you only need to buy cameras. So you don’t have to buy a Network Video Recorder (NVR), or PC to store the video.

As long as you can provide about 250 kilobytes per second of upload speed per camera, you are in business. For example, at the Wendell home, our upload speed on DSL is about 1.5MB, so we could safely add 4 cameras that will consume approximately 1MB per second, leaving us extra for other needs.

    Hosted Video Recording

    Hosted Video Recording

Four reasons for having EyeSpyPro.com host your surveillance video:

    • No NVR to purchase or maintain, lower cost to get up and running
    • No worry about a thief stealing it, its safe and secure from earthquakes, fire, or other loss
    • Easy Internet or smart phone access; currently supports iPhone, Android, and Blackberry smart phones
    • Choose from a month to month plan, or a lower price with a yearly agreement

If you have multiple restaurants, gas stations, or dry cleansers, you can install 2-4 cameras per location, store the video all on our secure servers, and have the peace of mind that if an accident, or something is stolen, all you have to do is go online, and download the video clip to your desktop, then burn to a CD for Law Enforcement.

At the moment, it only works with these AXIS cameras, with more & more being added.

For Legacy applications or if you have a surveillance system already, this makes a great back-up where you can set up a couple cameras at key areas, and if you have multiple factories, or department stores, or car dealers, you can pull up all the locations at one time, online or on a smart phone

Speco Hybrid DVRs Can Add IP Cameras And Salvage Your CCTV Camera Investment

    Friday, June 18th, 2010

If you have a aging CCTV camera video surveillance system that you invested too much money into, and find yourself drooling over the new Network IP Cameras, then there is hope. Speco announces the Speco H.264 16 Camera Hybrid Pentaplex Digital Video Recorder Family with Network DDNS Video Server, which is a new line of hybrid DVR’s that will let you hook up analog CCTV and network ip cameras.

If you have CCTV cameras that are working for you, you have 3 options if you need to expand:

    • You can leave it alone and add more CCTV cameras, running more cable, though you can go to a video balun set up to make that easy.
    • You can invest in a Hybrid DVR that will allow you to hook up analog and digital cameras.
    • You can buy encoders that will convert the feed to digital, making the camera a network camera.

We will cover the Hybrid DVR in this post, and cover the encoder idea in another post. A hybrid DVR is a great way to transition into the digital world, as it’s still a fully functional DVR that you are use to, it will also let you expand with network cameras, which you can’t do with your current DVR.

QNAP Makes IP Network Camera Installation A Snap

    Thursday, June 17th, 2010

With Network IP cameras becoming more and more popular, leave it to QNAP to come out with an easy to use Network Video Recorder (NVR) that is perfect for home and small business use.

A NVR is needed to record your video. The beauty of an NVR is that it does not have to be at the location of the cameras. With CCTV cameras, you have to have your DVR at the location, and there is no way you can perform offsite recording, unless you either burn a DVR and physically move it, or back up to a USB hard drive and move it. With a NVR, the video travels over your local area network, and if you have your NVR on site, you can record right there.

QNAP NVR 104 4 Channel SOHO and Home Owner NVR
QNAP NVR 104 4 Channel SOHO and Home Owner NVR

Or, you can set up the NVR at a different location, and have your cameras send the video to the NVR so there is no recording going on on location. Perfect for any surveillance system because the thief usually steals the DVR, leaving you with no video.

And they work with over 600 cameras, from 32 camera makers, so you should have no problems adding most IP cameras. We will be putting some bundles together with AXIS cameras, ACTi IP cameras, and Vivotek IP cameras, so check back for updates.

Two New Vivotek 2 Megapixel Fixed Dome IP Cameras

    Friday, March 26th, 2010

Vivotek just added two new 2 Megapixel Fixed Dome Network IP Cameras, now putting their total Vivotek Megapixel IP Cameras cameras to six.

If you don’t know, a 2 Megapixel IP camera can take stunningly clear surveillance video, that you can zoom in on, and recognize a person, unlike the fuzzy faces you see when you zoom in on a regular CCTV Camera. Unlike a 2 Megapixel digital camera, which is so outdated, its the standard now on mobile phones, 2 Megapixels of video is super high quality, allowing you to zoom right in on a license plate, or face, without it looking pixelated or blurry.

And the great part is these Vivotek cameas are PoE compliant, which means they can not only run the video on normal Cat 5 or ethernet cable, it can also run the power to operate the camea, carry 2-way audio, and control any PTZ function. Can’t do that with a 20th century CCTV camera.

The Vivotek FD8161 2 Megapixel H.264 Day and Night Fixed Dome Network Camera is perfect for indoor applications like theatres, lobbies, schools, or government offices. And 2 Megapixels will give you 6x field of view over a VGA camera, which allows you to install fewer cameras, and cover the same area.

Vivotek FD8161 2 Megapixel H.264 Day and Night Fixed Dome Network Camera
Vivotek FD8161 2 Megapixel H.264 Day and Night Fixed Dome Network Camera

A large lobby can be watched, and you can also have an ePTZ feature, which allows the camera to focus on specific areas, like door entrances or cashiers, and give you the big picture. The video us compressed using H.264 technology, which is 90% smaller than MJPEG, and 50% smaller than MPEG-4. And a smart cropping function allows you to trim certain areas like sky or trees, allowing you to send smaller files over your network, reducing the strain on your bandwidth.

An IR cut filter & IR Illiminators allow the camera to work well during the day, or at night, and most Vivotek caeras are PoE compliant.

The Vivotek FD8361 2 Megapixel H.264 Day and Night Vandal Proof Fixed Dome Camera will give you everthing the FD8161 does, plus it works best in outdoor applications, or indoors where things might get rough. It’s IP66 rated, which means it can survive a major soaking, or dust storm, and keep on ticking.

Vivotek FD8361 2 Megapixel H.264 Day and Night Vandal Proof Fixed Dome Camera
Vivotek FD8361 2 Megapixel H.264 Day and Night Vandal Proof Fixed Dome Camera

A vadalproof camera can withstand a hit by a bat, stick, or rock, and work well at schools, public locations, or watching your back dock or back yard. Both of these Vivotek fixed dome cameras come with free software, and have smart features to alert you if the camera is moved, or covered with something like spray paint or trash bag.

Spector Pro Computer Software Could Have Caught A Pervert

    Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

I read a sad and sick story in the OC Register about a predatory pervert that spent 2 years trolling Facebook & MySpace for young girls to send him pictures, and ultimately meet to model. While you might not have a daughter, I am sure you have a friend or relative that does, and just the thought of this makes my blood boil.

This guy set up a fake modeling agency, and ended up getting a couple girls to model in the nude and, well, I don’t want to talk about this sicko. The court was able to get thought he first 23 of 172 counts against him, and I pray this guy never gets out again.

I have a daughter named Sasha, and I like to know what she is doing when she is online. The last thing I need is for her to be chatting with that creep. Here’s a pic I dug up.

So what can you do about it? Nothing, and have your daughter, niece, or friends child end up a future statistic. Or, you can look at some type of computer monitoring program that would alert you to what your child is saying and doing online. The Spector Pro Complete Computer Monitoring Software, allows you to monitor all email, text messages, and instant messages coming in & out of any PC or Mac.

Spector Pro Complete Computer Monitoring Software

And, it also will record screen shots of what they are doing according to completely customizable triggers, like as frequently as 1 second, when a mouse is clicked, page is scrolled, web site visited, etc. And there is a version for Apple, as well as PC’s.

I can go on & on, though you get the idea. So no matter who you need to watch, get more info on the Spector Pro Complete Computer Monitoring Software here...

Security Cameras Catch Pizza Burglars Breaking Into Chuck E. Cheese

    Thursday, December 31st, 2009

Huntington Beach, CA Police arrested on man in a break-in @ a local Chuck E. Cheese pizza joint. Seems video caught 2 men breaking in for all the pizza they can eat, and scrammed when the COPS showed up.

However, one goof was caught waiting across the street, obviously the get-away driver, who didn’t even end up with a crust of pie. Too bad…

Even though we hear crime is down, there were still 2,222,196 burglaries in 2008 according to the FBI. That’s 2 million, two hundred twenty two thousand, one hundred and ninety six too many, and unless you have a security camera to record them, there will be little, if any chance of you catching them.

So if you are a home owner or business man on a budget, where can you turn besides the cheap, garbage cameras on eBay or @ CostCo?

Well, we just started carrying the SVAT line of video surveillance camera systems. No matter if you are looking for an inexpensive 4 camera system with the DVR built into the monitor, an 8 camera video surveillance system for medium sized homes & businesses, or a web ready 16 video camera system for larger homes & businesses you will find that SVAT offers VALUE!

    The Original Catwoman
All In One Web Ready 4 Channel Compact H.264 DVR Security System

I read that value means where price & quality meet. Lets face it, many people are out of work, or business is down, yet you gotta do something to watch over your home or business. The SVAT line offer good, solid, quality waterproof high resolution cameras, with easy to use digital video recorders that have Internet or iPhone/Smart phone accessibility.

Check out all the SVAT line of video security camera systems, as well as the rest of our line and take a bite out of crime, while you take a bite out of pizza…
