The LensFinder RF Dual Mode Hidden Camera Detector

The LensFinder Bug Detector will detect any audio bug or device operating between 1MHz ~ 6GHz frequencies, which is most any audio bug device on AM, FM, or hidden wireless cameras in the 900MHz, 2.4GHz (most wireless cameras), and 5.8MHz frequencies. You just turn the LensFinder on, and it has 2 modes, signal detection, and camera lens detection. Put it in signal detection, and when it gets near something giving off a signal, like a microwave oven, or your router, it will show the strength with the 4 green LED’s on the front. The closer you are, the stronger the signal. Great for finding WiFi hot spots in public also!

The LensFinder Dual Mode Bug Detector can also find wired cameras, which don’t give off a signal, though you use the the other feature. The other part uses built in LED’s that send a bright light out, and if there is a camera lens, you can see the reflection in the viewer, so it finds wired & wireless hidden cameras, even pin-hole cameras.

Whew, whatever, all I know is this is a nice video spy pen. It has all gold trim, so it does not appear to be like one of the ones that have been around for a while with chrome trim. Also, its the first video pen to use a SD card that we know of. It takes uip to 16 GB micro SD cards, and the you insert it where the USB plug use to be.

And there is a USB port now, so you can’t just plug it into a PC like before. You will need either the included cable to upload your video, or remove the SD card and use a SD card reader to upload. The video is 1281 x 960, and it has a time/date stamp that can be turned on or off, as well as updated with a .txt file. It also takes hugely massive 3264 x 2448 jpg photos.

It’s easy to use; hold the top button down for 2 seconds to turn it on. It starts up in stand-by mode, solid red, and push it again for 2 seconds and it will start blinking, recording video. The lens is above the clip, and the status light and reset port is on the back. Press the button ligthly for 2 seconds to stop recording. Hold it down for 4 seconds to go to solid blue or photo stand-by. Push the button and it will take 3 photos, and go back to stand-by mode. You can take more, go back to video mode by holding the button down for 4 seconds, or turn it off by holding it down for 6 seconds.

At full size, the videos & photos are blurry. If you shrink them down to 640 x 480, they look pretty good. Memphis Cafe in Costa Mesa on Bristol. Can’t read the street sign, though overall nice color, white balance, and you can make out practically everything else. We stopped in and had a soul burger & a German white beer, took some video and photos inside, and you can see the rest of them on the product page.

These make great gifts, though you gotta order today to get these out in time.

The only way to get a true hidden camera is to use a pinhole lens that sees through a tiny hole in a clock radio, wall clock, fan, or other consumer device.

However, network IP cameras have huge lenses, and would result in a huge hole in the clock radio that would give it away.

So what are you going to do? Well, AXIS released the AXIS M7001 Mini Video Encoder and covert camera kit, which allows you to use a tiny, analog camera, and encode it to digital at the source, turning any wireless or wired CCTV camera into a Network camera for a low cost.

It includes a little covert analog CCTV camera that has a mini jack plug to not only send the analog video to the digital video encoder, it also powers the camera. Put it in an out of the way place, and you can get great video that would be stored to a standard PC.
