Sadly, we report that here in the wonderful O.C. (Orange County, CA), two nursing homes were fined for by California health regulators because of inadequate care that led to the death of two elderly patients. Patients that could have been your Mother or Father.

Alamitos West Health Care Center in Los Alamitos was fined $100,000 (a paultry amount, though the states maximum penalty), for the death of an elderly women of dehydration, who died on Christmas day of last year. What a way for an elderly person to go…

And a man in Huntington Valley Health Care Center in Huntington Beach became ill, and was vomiting. A friend at bedside asked they call the patients family & paramedics. CPR was not started until they came, and he died of a heart attack.

Now this is just 2 out of 1,400 nursing homes in California, so we hope this these are isolated incidents, however, it’s too late to do anything after the fact.
