The Upgraded Spy Pen Digital Video Recorder Gets Updated

    Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010

We put up some new video from the latest version of the Upgraded Spy Pen Digital Video Recorder. This video pen has gone through 4 or 5 variations since it was upgraded from the orignal Spy Pen Digital Recorder. This version is actually the Business Portable Recorder 5, and since we already had a Business Portable Recorder, version 3, and the prior version of this spy pen was in a super clear 3G format, then the Government started seizing our shipments, and the factory stopped making it.

Whew, whatever, all I know is this is a nice video spy pen. It has all gold trim, so it does not appear to be like one of the ones that have been around for a while with chrome trim. Also, its the first video pen to use a SD card that we know of. It takes uip to 16 GB micro SD cards, and the you insert it where the USB plug use to be.

And there is a USB port now, so you can’t just plug it into a PC like before. You will need either the included cable to upload your video, or remove the SD card and use a SD card reader to upload. The video is 1281 x 960, and it has a time/date stamp that can be turned on or off, as well as updated with a .txt file. It also takes hugely massive 3264 x 2448 jpg photos.

It’s easy to use; hold the top button down for 2 seconds to turn it on. It starts up in stand-by mode, solid red, and push it again for 2 seconds and it will start blinking, recording video. The lens is above the clip, and the status light and reset port is on the back. Press the button ligthly for 2 seconds to stop recording. Hold it down for 4 seconds to go to solid blue or photo stand-by. Push the button and it will take 3 photos, and go back to stand-by mode. You can take more, go back to video mode by holding the button down for 4 seconds, or turn it off by holding it down for 6 seconds.

At full size, the videos & photos are blurry. If you shrink them down to 640 x 480, they look pretty good. Memphis Cafe in Costa Mesa on Bristol. Can’t read the street sign, though overall nice color, white balance, and you can make out practically everything else. We stopped in and had a soul burger & a German white beer, took some video and photos inside, and you can see the rest of them on the product page.

These make great gifts, though you gotta order today to get these out in time.

What Idiot Created The I Before E, Except After C Rule?

    Thursday, April 15th, 2010

While I was no expert in English; hell, I never even went to school in my life, I do remember the old I before E except after C rule. Now I find a word it does not apply to. Seems US Customs seized a shipment of DV Pen Motion Activated Video Spy Pen, and the Talking Mini Clock Radio Hidden Camera DVR from our China suppliers. In writing to a different supplier, I type in sieze with my big mitts, and I do a spell check, and low & behold, it’s saying it should be spelled seize.

WTH??? If that rule only applied to putting the letter E before the letter I, except when the preceding letter is anything in the world besides C, then what is this? Can anyone help me compute this?

Video Review Of The Voice Activated Megapixel Digital Video Spy Pen

    Friday, December 11th, 2009

We put up a video review of the Voice Activated Megapixel Digital Video Spy Pen.

It comes in a box we have not seen for over a year, though the pen is state of the art. The battery lasts a little over an hour, and the video is huge. 1280 x 960 video is nice and wide, and it records @ 27-29 fps for nice clear video and audio.

The Worlds First Motion Activated Video Spy Pen

    Thursday, December 10th, 2009

I know there are a ton of DVR Spy Pens out there, though we found the first one with motion activation called, what else, the Motion Activated Video Spy Pen. Starnex International, makers of the MicroEyes Camball have had one on the drawing board for 2 years. Looks like the Chinese beat the Koreans to the punch.

The motion activated dvr spy pen is hefty. It’s thicker than the Voice Activated Megapixel Digital Video Spy Pen, which is thicker than the Upgraded Spy Pen Digital Video Recorder. Whew!

However, it has 4 modes; video recording with audio, photo mode, audio only mode, and motion activated mode. We charged the pen for 3 hours through the USB port by plugging it directly in my Mac. It works on a PC also. We let it run, and it took almost 100 minutes of video in 2 files. That’s 1 hour & 38 minutes, the longest time we ever recorded a video spy pen.

    Motion Activated Video Spy Pen
    Motion Activated Video Spy Pen

It comes in a silver box with nothing else. You can download the easy to understand and translated manual on the product page. We have seen some manuals that are so poorly translated, you wonder who taught the person how to speak Engrish.

We are performing motion activation tests today & will post videos & pics later.

If like the latest gadgets, or need to only record when there is motion, or just want a camcorder always available, check out the the Motion Activated Video Spy Pen.

Spark Up Your Video Surveillance With The Disposable Lighter Hidden Spy Camera

    Friday, October 23rd, 2009

The Chinese keep coming up with the craziest stuff to hide cameras in. The latest is in a disposable cigarette lighter called, what else, the Disposable Lighter Hidden Spy Camera.

What looks like an ordinary lighter now carries a high resolution video camera, a megapixel still camera, and a DVR with 4GB of storage. See if you can see the camera lens in this pic of the lighter hidden camera video recorder

    Disposable Lighter Hidden Spy Camera
    Disposable Lighter Hidden Spy Camera

What the hell does all this mean??? Well, you can go out with a normal looking lighter and record video with audio, or still photo’s. Videos are nice 640 x 480, though it’s 15 fps, so keep it still. The mic is on the bottom, so if you stand it up, it could muffle the sound. It’s got its time & place for the right Copper or PI.

Its funny that a lot of my clients call and say, "Wendell, they are getting wise to my DVR Spy Pen or DVR Spy Watch, and I need something else that I can record the video to."

Yesterday, one guy who works at a medical facility, called yesterday to give us an update. They orignally called and said they were noticing that the Vicodin was missing, and they wanted to find out who did it. They picked up the Red DVR Spy Pen, which we have for under $20, and he was able to catch the janitor stealing the pills. I asked for a copy and hopefully I can post it later.

And he actually picked up the pen and was looking at it while it was recording! They also caught him spanking the monkey, though I have no desire to see that clip…

So if your cover is getting blown by using the same spy pen, check out the ton of new special application spy cameras, only @ EyeSpyPro.com

What To Do When Your Spy Pen Is Stuck

    Thursday, October 15th, 2009

There are two ways to get a DVR Spy Pen, DVR Spy Watch, Keychain DVR, or almost every other Spy Camera to work if it appears stuck. All except the PI Camstick, since it does not have a reset port. If it has a reset port, this trick works most of the time to get it going again.

Always start with this method first, as it takes care of most problems.

Just make sure it’s the reset port and not the microphone, as you might ruin it! The manual with the product shows the correct location of the reset port. In our example, we use the DVR Spy Pen that has the port below the status light.

There are 3 steps, and we posted pictures and instructions in our FAQ: My Spy Pen Is Stuck

If that does not work, go to the next method, erasing and reformatting the drive. We made a video on how to do it on a PeeCee called: My Spy Camera Is Not Working. We’ll have one up soon on how to do it on a Mac.

If that does not work, it’s dead or defective, and if you got it from us, we warranty it for 1 year & replace it; just call us for an RMA number. We just had one customer who said his battery died on a PI Camstick, 2 days before the one year was over. We sent him his new one, no questions asked. Everything we have is guaranteed for at least one year, or longer if the manufacturer will cover that time. We’ll also give you lifetime toll free tech support @ 877-3-EYESPY, and even if you didn’t get it from us, we will do our best to help you get your spy pen up & running.

The Spy Pen Digital Video Recorder Has The Clearest JPG Photos We Have Ever Seen

    Monday, October 12th, 2009

We went out with the latest version of the Updated Spy Pen Digital Video Recorder and took a few field surveillance videos & photos. I have to say, this is some of the clearest video and photos we have seen in a hidden video pen.

    And they are HUGE 2048 x 1536 photo’s that are 28.44 x 21.33 inches!

Take a look at this still photo:

Upgraded Spy Pen Digital Video Recorder

Now here is the deal. When taking a photo, it takes about 5 seconds to cycle, so you gotta hold the pen real still. It seems like an eternity, though for these stunning pics, we will wait.

The video records just under 20fps, and while it’s not real-time 30fps, the images are sharp and crisp.

If you are not happy with the quality of your old DVR Spy Pen, we area having the EyeSpyPro Cash for Clunkers, where we will give you $20 rebate when you send in your old clunker if you get one before October 15th, 2009.

If you are looking for a battery powered, hidden camera at a low price, check out the Upgraded Spy Pen Digital Video Recorder.

How Do I Find The Videos On My Spy Camera?

    Monday, October 5th, 2009

We have people call us from time to time who are not computer geeks, and prefer to stay that way. Sometimes they just can’t seem to find where exactly are the videos on their Spy Pen Digital Video Recorder, DVR Spy Watch, or PI Camstick.

If you have a PC, here is a video just for you. It will show you how to pull up the videos on your spy camera.

If you still can’t find them, just give me a shout…
