how do i link my security camera DVR over the internet so i can view it remotely?

    Thursday, July 2nd, 2009
    BOWEL BAG asked:

my DVR can be viewed in the local network but not outside it. how do i go about doing this? i heard there were two options: port forwarding on a router or purchase a DNS address. i don’t think the port FWD thing will work too well becuz this is set up in a public rec center and i dont want to get in trouble for our equip. conflicting with their internet. so if DNS were to be the option, what all would i need to get it up and running?

    Wireless camera help?

    Ip camera server help?
    Hi all,

I have just bought a 4 camera wireless ip set up. IPS506 i think its called. I have plugged everything in and followed the instructions but i am unable to connect to my base unit. I have tried plugging it into my laptop and also into my router. The network light in the base unit comes on and the rj45 lights on the back come on. When its connected to the router it also gets a network address which is 192.168.2.13, but when i run the “ip camera tool” it says no camera found.

I connect to my network via wireless and i am using vista.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance

    Matt
    Hi Again,
The router is giving out ip addresses and all of the addresses on my network are 192.168.0.???. As i said before the router can ping the base unit but i cannot connect with my computer.

How do I find out my “real” ip address?

    Friday, January 11th, 2008
    octane asked:

The remotely viewable security camera system at my business requires that I enter the ip address for access. Since I installed a wireless router to my modem, the ip address won’t let me view video surveillance. Going to “What is my ip address” gives me information that is not relavent to the DVR.
