Rick P asked: I have some footage that’s recorded on a MiniDV cassette from a Sharp VL-Z3 recorder. I installed all the proper drivers for the camera onto my laptop. I’ve tried to use the Windows Movie Maker to playback the video so I can capture and edit some parts of it to save it to my hard drive.
I connected the camera to my laptop using the S-Cable from the A/V output of the camera to the laptop.
When I select the “Capture Video” function, is says that no video device is connected to the computer. I’m kind of confused by this and the user manual doesn’t help much at all. Go figure!
Is there a step that I’m missing somewhere? Do I need to save a copy of the video to my laptop before I edit it?
