Axton Technologies Infrared Illuminators
Axton makes some very covert IR Illuminators. They offer two types, the older 850 nanometer IR’s that have a slight red glow under their black plastic face, and the invisible to the human eye 940 nanometer technology. What is great about Axton is that they also make them in four versions, with four different illumination distances & angles, in short, medium, and long range distances.
The Alpha Series have internal 12V DC regulated power supply with over voltage protection, and the back panel features built-in photocell that acts as an automatic day/night switch, and one or two tripod sockets for additional mounting options and convenience. The B Series is the same with no photocell, and they are turned on & off manually.
The third is their Power over Ethernet (PoE) Megapixel series which simplify system design and installation by allowing a SINGLE PoE enabled cable to power up both the IR illuminator and the camera. There are 3 versions, one is powered by PoE so you don’t have to run power to the illuminator, the 1 series powers both the IR and your camera, and the 2 series is PoE and will also trigger I/O alarms.
The Smart series can be remotely controlled by wire to adjust output power and photocell threshold, as well as externally triggered to emit a single or a sequence of light pulses. Digital I/O ports allow to synchronize illuminator with cameras or any other external alarming devices, and to activate peripheral devices at the same time. The SMART series IR illuminators also have extended DC/AC input. All these features allow easy integration of the IR illuminators into existing security system and to improve and expand performances of the entire network.
