New Video Sunglasses Do Not Scream They Are A Video Camera

    Thursday, August 26th, 2010

We just found the perfect Video Sunglasses that don’t scream out they are a video camera. You know what I am talking about, with 1-3 holes in the middle, you know there is a camera there.

Though with the Video Sunglasses, the camera is built into the side, pointing out to the left of your left eye.

    Video Sunglasses
    Video Sunglasses

Man, I gotta tell you, they not only look sharp, these covert dvr sunglasses have so many uses.

You can record your kids football or soccer games. You can record their golf, or baseball swings without bulky cameras in the way. Just videotape them, upload and watch on your PC! Record family reunions, birthdays, picnics, or anniversaries.

For business, you can use this for trade shows, interviews, training, accident reporting, loss prevention, and you Coppers and Guards can wear these while you patrol around your beat.

We will have some video samples up shortly. Until then, check out all the Video Sunglasses under our Special Application Spy Cameras for more info.

Shoot Ultra Clear Surveillance Video With The HD Pocket DVR With Touch Screen

    Thursday, August 26th, 2010

"Oh, My God!", I screamed in my best Moon Unit Zappa impersenation when I saw the sample video from the HD Pocket DVR With Touch Screen. If you have no clue as to what I am referring to, look up the Zappa song, "Valley Girl."

Anyway, even with the distortion YouTube brings to any video, this sample was absolutely, positively, not questions about it, the clearest video we have ever seen from any Pocket DVR or Spy Camera, ever.

Though who the heck am I to say that, besides being a Spy Camera Expert, with built in HD video cameras for eyes that record H.264 video at 1080p. You would think I was a cyborg Chameleon or something. You be the judge for yourself:

There is also a demo of using the touch screens on the product page, so if you work in loss prevention, law enforcement, private investigations, I know you’re drool is already reaching the ground. For the rest of you, watching the video on the product page of them going through the videos made me realize that these little Pocket DVR’s are great 1 camera recording systems. They normally come with a cable that will allow you to hook up any type of CCCT camera you like to the DVR.

So you can have a tiny, 1 camera, video recording station with you at all times. Set it up in a warehouse with the screw cover over the button cam, and it will appear to be a phillips head screw, not a camera. Hook up any of our wired hidden cameras, or wireless hidden cameras, and also dump the video into the Pocket DVR, and you have your recording of what the camera is seeing. Great if you need to move it around a factory or office, or for that matter, your home to watch what your teenagers or housekeeper is up to, or your better 1/2.

They can also run off electricity, so you don’t have to worry about runnig out of battery if you are using it in an indoor application.

There are so many uses for a pocket DVR, and if you need the very best recording quality you can get, the HD Pocket DVR With Touch Screen is it.

Soon Only Law Enforcement Can Buy Spy Cameras

    Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

Since US Customs started seizing shipments of our most popular spy cameras, specifically the Business Portable Recorder Video Spy Pen, and the Upgraded Spy Pen Digital Video Recorder that record video and audio, we pretty much stopped ordering anything from China after they took a 3rd shipment, since we plan on staying in business for quite a while & we can’t if we keep having such losses.

Seems that 12-16 states have problems with you recording audio without both parties consent, and they are using the old wired tap and audio bug laws to toss this subject into and harass people like us, and the guy who filmed a whacked out cop with his gun drawn, and they tried to use the wiretap laws against him, and the case was dismissed.

Is this America? Where cops are allowed to violate your Fourth Amendment rights – not to mention your First Amendment right to film them – on the approval of some secretive judge? Well maybe not all judges agree. “The judge who released me looked at the paperwork and said she didn’t see where I violated the wiretapping law.” Ah yes, the wiretapping charge. That old standby that cops use when you happen to videotape them in public while they are on duty when they have absolutely no expectation of privacy. Sure, the First Amendment supposedly allows us to photograph police in public. Numerous court rulings have determined that. But now cops have turned to irrelevant wire-tapping charges to crack down against those who video them in public. Those laws are designed to protect people whose voices are recorded in telephone calls. You know, when you actually have an expectation of privacy. Fortunately, most judges end up throwing these charges out of court when the cops don’t have an expectation of privacy.

So that means that 34-38 states do allow only one party to know audio is being recorded, yet that does not matter. And this gives me hope we might be able to fight this.

Either way, if they want to take the shipments, who am I to stop them, even if they want to stretch the law of surreptitious interception to include direct audio recording. Now surreptitious means to snatch secretly, or acting in a stealthy way.

Check, they are hidden cameras. It’s the interception part that I have a problem. Ask any knuckle dragging Neanderthal what an interception is, and he will say when a properly thrown football is caught by the opposing team member. It’s intercepted. It’s grabbed out of thin air.

Just like an AM/FM audio bug, it intercepts the audio from a conversation and broadcasts it over the radio. Remember the movie with Gregory Peck called Boys From Brazil? In one scene, they have an early radio bug planted in the room, and some little Mexican kid is playing with a radio in another location, flipping the channels, and comes across the conversation with the Germans who were plotting something nasty.

Or a phone tap, it’s intercepting the conversation. Though to say a hidden camera that also records audio is intercepting the conversation is really stretching it. What about digital audio recorders? They record audio and are available in every electronics store on earth.

What about Flip cameras? They record video with audio and they are pretty small. They sell millions of them, why isn’t the government going after them? What about any camcorder or even digital camera, they all record movies with audio. What about pretty much any smart phone? They record or can run an app to record video with audio. My old iPhone has such an app, though the new ones do now. What about the new little iPod nano that also has a video camera with audio? That’s a hidden camera in side an iPod, and apple is selling trillions of them.

US Customs, why are you not going after the big suppliers of these cameras with wiretap laws???

Though they got a lot more guns then me, so I have to waive the white flag, and pick up the pen, which is mightier than the sword, though not very often.

However, we found a way to work around it. While we can still get the old ones here in the USA, for now, at a higher price tag, we worked it out to only offer them to only Law Enforcement Agency, or US, State, County, or City government, Police, Sheriff, etc. We will take the order and ship direct to you from our Chinese supplier. This has worked so far, as we just filled a 50 pen order to a Sheriffs Department here in the USA, and it sailed right through Customs.

These are out gold trimmed pens, which I have not seen anywhere else. You can get the chrome trim ones that have been around for a few year, and everyone will know its a spy camera. The gold trimmed ones on the Business Portable Recorder that records in .AVI format, and can record video with audio, photos, or just audio, & the Upgraded Spy Pen, which records video in the more compressed 3GP format, and takes photos that rival a digital camera, are thinner and more covert.

For everyone else, we can try to ship to you, though if US Customs seizes it, we can’t be held responsible.

Something will change real soon on this, as these products are now commodities, due to the Chinese mass producing them and flooding the market. There will have to be some ruling on this by some court, or at least an opinion letter from DHS, or something.

    Death Of The Spy Camera

    Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

I don’t know if you saw this, though back in April, a testosterone fueled young guy was pulled over for speeding and popping a wheelie on his motorcycle in Baltimore county by a hell bent Maryland State police officer with his gun drawn. At first, I thought the guy had a hidden camera inside his helmet to not only record his escapades, it’s a good way to keep the Police in line and make sure they follow proper procedure. Then I see it’s a regular camera, bolted on top of his helmet, and is not hidden in any way!

The cop did not realize it was a camera, since he was ready to unleash a hail of lead on the youngster:

So the kid ends up with a video of the stop and posts it. The cops toss him in jail for 26 hours, raid his parents home @ the crack of dawn & detain his mother and sister, preventing them from going to work, and steal 4 computers, and charge him with a felony, and threaten him with 5 years in jail for recording the movie. And the camera was not even hidden:

Now I am sure this young man had no idea he would be arrested, let alone in this way, as he was just having a little fun. I will say some of our clients have purchased cameras and audio recorders for such reasons, specifically to record what a Cop does when he pulls them over.

They end up attempting to charge him under Federal wiretap laws, just like US Customs says is the reason they are seizing our shipments of spy pens and spy cameras from China. The third seizure forced us to no longer buy these items direct, and have to use USA suppliers, so we had to raise our prices to compensate. And with people selling stolen pens from the factories, rejects that did not pass inspection, and older models on eBay for $1 with free shipping, how on earth are we to compete?

Anyway, they end up with unsigned paperwork from any judge due to privacy of the judge? What kind of star chamber has this country become?

Luckily there is one person in the judiciary who thinks charging someone who records with a hidden camera under federal wiretap laws is beyond a stretch.

So this cases gives us good fodder for a possible challenge, as they are using the wrong laws to go after us. They are saying we violated Title 18 § 2512(1)(a).

    Title 18 § 2512(1)(a).

    (a) sends through the mail, or sends or carries in interstate or foreign commerce, any electronic, mechanical, or other device, knowing or having reason to know that the design of such device renders it primarily useful for the purpose of the surreptitious interception of wire, oral, or electronic communications;

I guess I’ll start with the ACLU, as we ain’t intercepting nothing. Is it surreptitious? Hell yes, though a recording is not an interception. It’s not pulled out of thin air, or tapped into a phone line. If they want to make it illegal to record video with audio, they need to make a law against it, not try and charge us with a crime we did not commit. Every camcorder, flip camera, and pocket DVR records video with audio. Every digital camera now records video with audio. Even the iPod nano, an MP3 player has a video camera with audio, so technically Apple is also breaking the law.

The Edic-mini Tiny16 A46 Digital Audio Recorder Looks Like A Flash Card

    Wednesday, August 18th, 2010

We are slowly adding all the Edic audio recorders from the Russian company TS-Market, and the Edic-mini Tiny16 A46 Digital Audio Recorder is pretty neat.

The Edic-mini Tiny16 A46 Digital Audio Recorder looks like an innocent flash drive, yet records audio up to 28 hours. About 3" x 1/2" x 1/4", this tiny device is easy to use and records professional grade audio.

    Edic-mini Tiny16 A46 Digital Audio Recorder
    Edic-mini Tiny16 A46 Digital Audio Recorder

All Edic models are professional grade audio recorders, and they are shrunk to micro proportions, so that’s why you will pay more than huge digital audio recorders. If size is an issue, one of the 2 dozen Edic Tiny digital audio recorders will work for you.

The Edic-mini Tiny16 A46 Digital Audio Recorder has a built in Li-pol rechargeable battery that will also last for up to 2 months in stand-by mode. If you drop down to quality, you can record for up to 4 days. The tiny built in microphone works up to 30 feet or 12 meters.

With voice activation mode, and scheduled recording, you will find the Edic-mini Tiny16 A46 Digital Audio Recorder is very flexible.

And we gotta warn you that 12+ states have laws requiring both parties to be informed they are being recorded, so you better talk to an attorney in your state to get the skinny about this, as the Feds are all over this, and actually seizing our spy cameras that record audio.
