Chicago Suburb Installs Police Surveillance Cameras At Residences

    Monday, September 29th, 2008

In an interesting move, a Chicago, IL suburb, West Chatham, a homeowner tired of vandals destroying his property agreed to let police install video surveillance cameras at his home.

Charles Hill installed five surveillance cameras outside the 3,720-square-foot home he’s building in West Chatham after local kids broke $3,700 worth of architectural windows.

From now on he won’t be the only one checking the video when something bad happens on his block.

Hill has become the first private homeowner to take the city up on its unprecedented offer to connect privately owned exterior surveillance cameras to Chicago’s 911 emergency center.

It is interesting to see that 2 dozen businesses and schools have also agreed to share their video. It really didn’t go into detail if they are wired or wireless, though it talked about a fiber optic network that was encrypted.

We always feel that a Video Surveillance System is the best way to protect your home, as you can have a record of who entered your property to give to law enforcement.

There are so many ways to protect your home or business. For people on a budget and not wanting to buy DVR’s and cameras, the simplest is the SecureView Flood Light Camera, a camera hidden in a flood light that sends video to a box you plug into your T.V. or VCR.

For a great price to performance ratio, we have the 1-4 VersaCam Live View series, that allow you to record up to 4 indoor or outdoor cameras through a small box that connects to your computers USB port.

    VersaCam Super IR Camera

From there, we have video surveillance systems starting at 4 camera’s and up. Visit our website EyeSpyPro.com for more information. We can also help you put together a complete video surveillance system from different components. Use our contact form, or call us for more information…

Any comments about letting Law Enforcement put a camera at your house? I can see this in Socialist countries, though is that going to far in our free society?

The Secret To The CubeCam? The MicroEyes BallCam!

    Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

The CubeCam finally shipped and the first person who say it reported the internal camera and DVR is really the MicroEyes DVR inside!

    Secure Shot CubeCam Hidden Camera

One of our suppliers took the MicroEyes Cam Ball camera, an incredible device that puts a video camera that records 30 fps and a SD card recording DVR into something the size of a golf ball.

Then they had a proprietary lithium ion battery that lasts 21 days, and they put it all in a little smoke colored plastic box that is 4 inches long x 2 inches tall x 3 inches wide.

Small enough to put on a shelf or dark corner, the CubeCam can be set up to only record when their is motion, so you are not wasting your time shooting nothing. It also has a low light feature for night time, and with the internal battery, there are no cords sticking out.

These are great for a Nanny cam or Granny cam to watch what is going on when you are not there.

The CamBall has been upgraded to firmware 1.8 that you can find on it’s MicroEye CamBall web page.

The CamBall manager software is great and allows you to modify the camera properties.

If you are looking for a tiny hidden self contained mini video surveillance system, find out more information on the Secure Shot CubeCam on our website.

Fake ATM Fraud Alert: Make Sure It’s Not Hijacked!

    Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

We are seeing a lot of instances where creative scum bags are making fake face plates to ATM machines, and putting in hidden cameras to record your pin #, and a reader to read the data from your credit card. We previously reported on such practices at self-serve gas stations.

Boynton Beach police uncover scheme to rig devices on ATMs for information
Police uncover scheme to rig devices for information

Boynton Beach, FL – A new, sophisticated scheme to steal money out of automated teller machines was uncovered here this weekend, raising concerns that operatives of a Romanian organized crime ring could be operating locally, police said Monday.

It’s called ATM skimming and victims usually don’t even know they’ve been victimized until their identities, and their money, are in the hands of strangers in another part of the world, city police warned.

Here’s how it works: Thieves install a fake face panel on an ATM that conceals a card reader and a hidden camera to record the user’s PIN. When someone uses the machine, the reader records information stored in the card’s magnetic strip, including name, address, birth date, card number, security code, etc., police said.

The user, meanwhile, takes back the card and cash, and leaves without suspecting a thing.

Here is what you need to look for anywhere you stick your credit card in public; a fake front face plate. Pull and tug on the ATM machine, gas pump, or the credit card terminal in between the pumps, like you find @ Arco. If it bents, pulls back, or buckles, it is most likely a fake face place.

If it is solid and does not move, and the paint matches, its the real deal.

The police caught 2 brazen punks from Romania who were in a car nearby, with a crude face plate, super glue, and GPS coordinates of banks in 1/2 dozen states. They had no record or background, nothing except a drivers license. They made it into the country, and incredibly, they were allowed to post bail, they were released! I am sure they will never show up & come out here so we can do it all over the USA.

Be cautious of any place you stick your credit card in public! If the ATM looks different, is a different color, or has stickers that say “No Tampering,” those are some warning signs the ATM has been hijacked.

Also make sure you cup your hands over the keypad when you enter your pin, making sure no camera is seeing your PIN. Notify the bank if you suspect anything is not correct.

Home “stealth” security system with high def video?

    Friday, September 5th, 2008
    Mr SmoothHead asked:

I’m planning on installing a “stealth” high definition video surveillance system with about 50GB of storage.

Planning on having two monitors and 3 small cameras that would be hard to detect.

How much would such a system cost?

Not planning on having it connected to computer. Strictly a home system.

    Forensic Cell Phone Examiner

    Thursday, September 4th, 2008

The CSI Stick Portable Cell Phone Forensics is designed to perform forensic examination on mobile phones or cell phones. The Forensic Cell Phone Examiner will help investigators, concerned parents, or employers get a better handle on how what was done on a mobile phone.

We have been selling SIM Card Readers that work great to find any deleted text messages & last dialed phone numbers on SIM cards. However, they won’t work if the information is written to the phone’s memory. A SIM card reader can’t read the phone’s memory and there wasn’t a lot you could do to find the data until now.

    Forensic Cell Phone Examier

You will see all the call logs, missed, dialed, or called. You can see the SMS history, the date book and address book. There isn’t much you can’t find suing the Cell Phone Examiner.

If you need to know the usage of a cell phone, then you need the Forensic Cell Phone Examiner . Find out more information @ our online Spy & Surveillance store…
