Broke Musicians Use Surveillance Camera Clips For Their Music Video

    Thursday, May 29th, 2008

Got a band and you spend all your money on beer and drugs, yet can’t afford to shoot a video? Then use the public CCTV cameras and then demand the footage!

A UK band found a very creative way to use their Orwellian Public Video Surveillance system to their benefit.

I just reported that with all the cameras in the world, UK’s Big Brother Surveillance Network Does NOT Reduce Crime they are not doing a whole lot to deter crime or catch criminals. Maybe this could be a new revenue stream for Britain, selling the video surveillance clips of requesters.

Got a band but can’t afford to shoot a video? Then use public CCTV cameras and then demand the footage!

Unable to pay the price for a professional video, they performed their music in front of 80 of the 13 million CCTV “security” cameras available in England.

They then used Britain’s Data Protection Act to request the footage that was shot of them.

This might work in New York City, where the ring of steel is being constructed by Mayor Bloomberg, though most other cities just don’t have the surveillance infrastructure (thank God), of London.

While the music is kind of weak, the idea rates a 10 from EyeSpyPro!

UK’s Big Brother Surveillance Network Does NOT Reduce Crime

    Thursday, May 22nd, 2008

    I read an interesting article that basically says for all the billions and billions of dollars that the UK has spent to create the worst example of Big Brother out of control police state, it does not reduce crime;

Only 3% of all street crime was solved with a surveillance camera; Wow!

CCTV boom has failed to slash crime, say police

Massive investment in CCTV cameras to prevent crime in the UK has failed to have a significant impact, despite billions of pounds spent on the new technology, a senior police officer piloting a new database has warned. Only 3% of street robberies in London were solved using CCTV images, despite the fact that Britain has more security cameras than any other country in Europe.

The warning comes from the head of the Visual Images, Identifications and Detections Office (Viido) at New Scotland Yard as the force launches a series of initiatives to try to boost conviction rates using CCTV evidence.

They admit with all this technology, they don’t know what to do with it. With feeds from millions and millions of cameras, there are not enough people on earth to look at it all, so the idea of public surveillance systems decreasing crime is a myth.

However, at home or your business, a digital video surveillance system will capture the images of some punk breaking in or vandalizing your property. You won’t need to sift through tens of thousands of hours of video to find the right bit to burn onto a DVD to give to the Police.

We wrote a couple articles on this subject and posted them over @ ezinearticles.com:

Which Video Surveillance System Is Right For My Home?

Which Surveillance Camera System Is Right For My Business?

We have a variety of complete video surveillance systems already bundled that set up quickly and are Internet accessible from any browser in the world, so you can monitor your home or business from where you are so see what’s going on. We put up a few working cameras that show you what the quality looks like at night, and with the night vision capabilities, let it see in a pitch black warehouse.

On the page for the 4 channel wired video surveillance system, we put the link to view the live feed. It has be viewed with IE, not Firefox, and it requires some Active-X set up. If you have any problems, send us an email and our tech support rep. can walk you through the set-up.

    4 Channel Complete System

Once you set up your 4 camera video surveillance system, it can be set to record when motion is detected, during a certain time, like 8-5, or 24/7. It’s completely controllable and all cameras can be viewed by any web enabled browser, anywhere in the world. Any video segment is easily burned to disc for Law Enforcement to actually solve the crime.

If you are looking for a good quality complete video surveillance system, starting at four cameras and go up to unlimited, visit our online Spy & Surveillance Superstore for more information.

Hidden Camera Catches Nursing Home Employee Stealing From Little Old Ladies

    Wednesday, May 21st, 2008

We see another instance when a hidden camera caught a worker at an assisted living or nursing home stealing from the residents. Robbery & Theft are soaring as a new career for many people since so many people have lost their jobs…

Police: Assisted Living Center Worker Caught On Camera Stealing
A worker at an assisted living center was arrested and charged with theft after she was caught on camera stealing from patients, police said.

Deputies arrested the woman at the Regency Park Assisted Living Center on Southwest Barnes Road.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office received multiple reports of thefts going on at the center, so with help from the assisted living center’s directors, they set up a hidden camera to try and catch the thief, police said.

We are working with the owner of a new assisted care home to set it up to have hidden cameras and microphones in each room. We will go with a Motion Detector Hidden Camera like this one.

The Motion Detector 2.4GHz Hidden Camera

It looks like an innocent motion sensor, however, inside is a tiny camera that will record excellent quality video in the day or night. There is also room for a tiny microphone, though you should check on the legalities of this in your area before you start recording audio.

We are going with wired cameras because there is no interference from other wireless phones, and it can’t be picked up with a 2.4GHz wireless receiver. They will also have an amplified microphone put inside, and we connect it with triple cable that has a line for power, video, and sound.

We are going with a 8 Channel GeoVision card that will handle all the video digitizing. It’s a newer version of the one we have on our site. It goes into a computer, though we have complete GeoVision PC Video Recorder already ready to plug the cameras into.

If you run an assisted care or nursing home, or even a day care center, you should consider installing a 4-8 camera system to cover the most important areas and record the evidence to disc, just in case you have employees like the lady above, who feels all the money in the world is hers…

Project ECHELON – The Most Secret Government Surveillance System, Ever

    Tuesday, May 20th, 2008

In case you did not know, Project ECHELON is a super secret US Government spy program that has been around for years and been exposed. PBS even did a show on the subject.

The following is a History Channel video regarding Project ECHELON and the complex system throughout the world that monitors every cell phone call, fax, email, Instant Message, land line call, radio, satellite transmission, and short wave radio transmission on the planet. Proof that this whole domestic spying thing is nothing new.

Since everything you send or receive has been screened, there is really only one way to protect your privacy, and that is to scramble your phone calls. There are two ways to do that, have a phone with this built in, or buy a box that will do that.

We will show you a box that sits between your phones base & handset. It is called The Miser Voice Scrambler, and it scrambles your phone conversatios with 1 million different possibilites so there is no way the AT&T or the Governmet can crack this.

Self Defense Products Protect You From Increased Attack & Robbery

    Thursday, May 15th, 2008

As I have been reporting on my Self Defense blog, robberies and burglaries are up, up, up! With that comes the possibility of having to defend yourself. While it’s always better to give up your wallet & keys, sometimes you need to fight back. We have a whole store full of products to do just that, www.Def>DefendThyself.com.

We teamed up three of our favorite Self Defense items: some super strong Wildfire 18% Pepper Spray, the Runt 650,000 Volt Stun Gun, and an ear piercing Personal Alarm to get other peoples attention .

And we put them in a package we call The Ultimate Urban Survival Kit; everything you need to walk downtown with confidence that no punk is going to ruin your day; actually, you will ruin his!

    The Ultimate Urban Survival Kit

We filmed some punk getting sprayed with the Wildfire Pepper Spray & getting stunned with that Runt Stun Gun, and put it on our home page. While this was staged, all you do is get a drop of it in their eyes, and they can’t see for 30-45 minutes.

Then, let the world know by blasting your Personal Alarm, which will also disorient the attacker. Enough time to blast them for 5-10 seconds with the Runt Stun Gun. That will take them out and drop them to the pavement. They won’t be able to move for 10-20 minutes, while the electricity is lightly frying their internal circuits, while you take off to higher ground.

Don’t let any punk spoil your day; pick up The Ultimate Urban Survival Kit today from our online store. It normally lists for $79.90 if purchased seperate, though together, we are blowing them out for $59.95 until midnight, Friday the 16th, Pacific time…

Ground Zero Of AT&T’s Spying Program – Stripping Away Your Rights To Privacy

    Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

I accidently stumbled on the Electronic Frontier Foundation’s article that goes to the heart of what we have been reporting here for months; the possible illegal activities of AT&T.

The article talks about ground zero of this whole controversy with AT&T is in a small city outside of St. Louis, MO called Bridgeton.

We have been reporting about this for the last few months:

  • Protecting Your Privacy Against AT&T’s Illegal Central Exchange Surveillance
  • Adjusting To The National Surveillance State
  • Don’t Try To Sue AT&T For Giving Your Private Info To Uncle Sam
  • Only The Comsec C3i-II Can Detect Telephone Company Wiretaps
  • A local station KMOV puts the pieces together in a comprehensive and disturbing story about this dragnet surveillance, with the help of AT&T whistleblower Mark Klein. Plenty of links to the report and videos. Check it out and read all the great links in the above blog posts and educate yourself about how our Government is stripping away your rights to privacy…

    Welcome To The Surveillance-Industrial Complex

    Monday, May 12th, 2008

Fergies Tech Blog referred me to a good article called

    ‘Surveillance-Industrial Complex’ Turbo-Charging Government Monitoring
The government is rapidly increasing its ability to monitor average Americans by tapping into the growing amount of consumer data being collected by the private sector, according to a major report released today by the American Civil Liberties Union.

It has a great report from the ACLU called: “The Surveillance-Industrial Complex: How the American Government is Conscripting Businesses and Individuals in the Construction of a Surveillance Society”

Bush’s Wiretapping About To Be Exposed

    Monday, May 12th, 2008

We have been following this story for months and we are still waiting with baited breath on some of these lawsuits getting settled…

House Democrats refuse to delete pending spy lawsuits
    Posted by Anne Broache

Congressional Democrats on Tuesday dug in on their refusal to pass a revamped surveillance law that could wipe out some 40 lawsuits accusing telephone companies of illegal cooperation with government spies.

According to summary documents provided by U.S. House of Representatives Majority Leader Steny Hoyer’s office, Democratic leaders are preparing to debate yet another new bill that would not offer so-called “retroactive immunity” to companies that allegedly opened up their networks to the National Security Agency without a court order. At least in theory, that means cases like the one the Electronic Frontier Foundation filed against AT&T should be able to proceed.

In addition, the new proposal would allow the judge presiding over such cases to review otherwise classified evidence about the extent of government wiretapping. The Bush administration has argued such documents cannot be used in litigation because “state secrets” may be revealed.

When we hear anything on this subject, we will post here.
